About Dr. Lucas
Lucas J. Bader MD, MS, MBA is a board certified Orthopedic Surgeon with fellowship training in shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle.
Dr. Bader, or Dr. Lucas as he is known by his patients, is an expert in the treatment of osteoarthritis, tendon disease, and fractured bones.
Dr. Lucas advocates for a comprehensive, innovative, holistic, and common sense approach to treating injury.

Dr. Lucas’s love affair with Orthopaedics started on a painful note.
As a high school junior he sustained a fractured tibia (shin bone) during a soccer game that forced him to miss the majority of his senior football and soccer seasons; two sports that he was greatly passionate about.
This experience singed an indelibly imprint in Dr. Lucas regarding the pain and disability associated with musculoskeletal injury and ignited his life long passion for helping others achieve musculoskeletal health.

Dr. Lucas graduated with a degree in Chemistry from the University of California at Davis. While at Davis, he was a starting wide receiver for the Aggies. After undergraduate training, Dr. Lucas continued his education at UC Davis, earning his medical degree.
Lucas Bader MD, MS, MBA pursued his residency training at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center. In Miami, he received advanced Orthopedic trauma training at the renowned Ryder Trauma Center, which serves as an Army Forward Surgical Team training facility.
Dr. Lucas Bader MD, MS, MBA completed his first fellowship in ankle and foot reconstruction at the Hospital for Special Surgery, one of the premier Orthopedic Institutions in the nation.
Dr. Lucas undertook his second fellowship with Dr. Joel Matta, the American pioneer of anterior hip replacement.
Lucas Bader MD, MS, MBA traveled to the land down under for his third fellowship training under Greg Janes MD and Ross Radic MD in Perth, Australia with a focus on robotic joint replacement surgery, and knee and shoulder reconstruction.
As a life long learner, Dr. Lucas received his Masters of Biomedical Engineering and Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University and the Wharton school of Business respectively.
His current research and early stage medical device development concentrates on the application of focused ultrasound for treatment of soft tissue injury and musculoskeletelal regeneration.

While a native of Huntington Beach, California, Dr. Lucas is happy to call South Florida home.
Dr. Lucas’s hobbies include math, sprinting, and yoga.
